Jim Roberts (Collinson 1945-50)

We were all saddened to learn that Jim Roberts passed on 1st November 2020.

Jim was an OM legend known for his rugby prowess and voluntary initiatives for the Mill Hill School Foundation. He was also an 'original' Middlesex Scholar', who came from Drayton Manor Grammar School. After Mill Hill, he was a Cambridge rugby blue, played for Sale and was capped for England 18 times between 1960 and 1964. He topped his career with regular performances with OMRFC.

Jim gave back to the school. He was a Governor of the Foundation and instrumental in establishing the role of Life Governors (aka Life Guardians) as future Governors and benefactors of the Foundation. He orchestrated in 2000 the merger of Life Guardian funds with the McClure Memorial Award to help fund the current McClure bursary at Mill Hill School. He chaired the Life Governors Committee and was President of the Old Millhillians Club 1996-97.

Our thoughts are with his wife Jill, and his children Fiona, Karen and Windsor.
