Ladies hockey, and a new Mens and Mixed Hockey team
Old Millhillians Ladies Hockey Club was founded in September 2021. After the pandemic and two years of no social sports, Olivia Brown and Nicole Harvey were keen to get back into not just hockey, but socialising, making new friendships and keeping fit, whilst learning picking up an old skill from school days.
The hockey team encourages people of all abilities to get involved, whether that is to play on the pitch, umpire, brave it in the goal, or even just getting involved in the socials and supporting the team from the side-lines. Initially in our first season we experienced lots of interest by old school friends from Mill Hill. This only encouraged and helped the hockey team grow, something we hope will continue.
Our first season was tough but as the team grew and the weekly practice continued, the team ended the season on a high. Undefeated in the second half of the season, which ultimately has led OMLHC to be promoted to the London Women's Division 5 North West. We will be playing amongst some very established teams, such as Eastcote 5, West Hampstead and Chiswick in the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
Training
The next hockey season will run from September 2024 through to April 2025. Training is held every Tuesday from 19:30 – 20:30 at the school and allows us time to practice as a team, learn new drill and practice short corners which ultimately we use in the games. This session is open to those of all abilities as the coach makes it a fun and interactive session!
Fixtures & Results
Matches are played on Saturdays. The times do vary, however the team usually head to team teas and drinks after the match to debrief and a vote on player of the match. We hold quarterly socials and often mix with the Old Millhillian Rugby and Cricket teams.

NEW MENS AND MIXED HOCKEY
OM Romesh Virasinghe has just launched a mens and mixed hockey team for the Old Millhillians, and is looking for players to get involved.
