Adrian was bought up in Kingsbury and attended Kilburn Grammar School and Battersea College of Technology. He also ganied an Open University degree.
Adrian qualified as an umpire and umpired in the Middlesex County League. For the last nine years he umpired for the 1st XI at MHS having taken over from the previous incumbent Vic Earwigger. Although his poor health prevented him from umpiring this season, he was a regular spectator at both Mill Hill School matches and Stanmore CC. Adrian was also a member of Middlesex County Cricket Club and the MCC.
