Tony Fitzjohn (Weymouth 1958-63)
All OMs will, I am sure, be devastated to learn of the death yesterday of Tony Fitzjohn OBE.
Tony Fitzjohn, the founder of the Mkomazi Rhino Project, passed away on May 23rd 2022. He was a legendary conservationist known for his work in wildlife preservation, particularly in the Black Rhino Project at Mkomazi National Park. Fitzjohn was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to wildlife conservation and education. A
special museum in his memory is planned to be established in Mkomazi National Park, honoring his legacy and the efforts he made to
protect endangered species in Tanzania.
Our condolences go to his wife, Lucy, and four children: Alexander, Jemima, Tilly and Imogen.
